Required Qualifications

The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education. Technical certification and/or licensure also may be required for some programs.

Job Description

The position organizes, schedules, coordinates and monitors a PSAV program to ensure effective operations and activities in compliance with state and federal standards and guidelines. In addition, provides instruction for certain programs, prepares required reports, and maintains records.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer applicants with: (1) experience as either a light rail vehicle service technician or elctro-mechanical technician, (2) experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, (3) excellent communication skills, (4) computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), (5) demonstrated leadership skills, (6) strong organizational skills and attention to detail (7) established customer service background and (8) adult vocational teaching experience.

Supplemental Job Information

As part of its Advanced Transportation Training Center (ATTC), HCC is developing a new post-secondary vocational training program for service technicians to learn how to maintain and repair automated people movers and light rail vehicles.

The employee will work collaboratively with a team consisting of staff, business partners, vendors, equipment manufacturers, and subject matter experts to develop an industry based training curriculum with occupational competencies, learning assessments, project based learning units, and training guides.

Once completed, the employee will teach the curriculum to students seeking a career as a service technician on automated people mover or light rail vehicle systems.
