Required Qualifications

This position requires at least an awarded Associate’s degree or two-year College equivalent (at least 60 undergraduate semester hours, at least two years of prior-related work experience, experience implementing youth activities and experience supervising youth in groups of 8 to 20. Also requires valid First Aid/CPR certification (must be obtained prior to the start of camp).

Job Description

The position is responsible for supervising and mentoring the daily activities of the camp. Duties include: Plan and organize activities, serve as positive role model to youth, assist with set ups, clean ups and transportation, perform administrative duties, maintain facilities and equipment in acceptable and safe condition, carry out the goals, themes and schedule of the program to ensure a consistent and high quality experience. Assist in promoting the program.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer applicants with experience working with kids and/or teens in a structured camp setting.

Supplemental Job Information

Camp leader positions will be on various campus locations in Hillsborough County. The camps are 10 weeks, Monday through Friday, from May 30th through August 4, 2017. Selected applicants will require a criminal background check through the Florida Department of Children and Families. In addition, applicants will require CPR certification (to be obtained prior to the start of camp) that can be taken through the Institute for Corporate and Continuing Education (ICCE) on Davis Islands.

Additional Documents Required

This position requires at least an awarded Associate’s degree (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited educational institution. If not substituting experience for education, applicants must attach a copy of their diploma or transcript, showing at least the minimum qualifications, at the time of application. In addition, applicants must submit a resume detailing their prior-related work experience at the time of application. If selected for an interview, applicants must bring an original transcript to the interview showing the awarding of the required degree or the required undergraduate semester hours. If the transcript has not been updated to show the awarding of the required degree, applicants must bring written documentation from the educational institution showing when the degree was awarded.
