The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and two years of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.

Job Description

The position coordinates and directs the daily administrative functions to ensure efficient office operations. Serves as primary liaison for the department with district office administrative units. Contributes to strategic planning and evaluation. Manages budgets and purchasing processes. Reviews staff travel requests and ensures accuracy of expense reports. Maintains databases and filing systems. Coordinates review and approval processes for international travel requests, including compliance with health, safety, and risk management requirements. Assists in writing, reviewing and updating policies and procedures. Prepares reports and assists the Director in other office functions as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer applicants with: (1) experience managing budgets, including grant-funded budgets, (2) a demonstrated ability to document inter-office processes, (3) ability to maintain positive relationships with personnel at all levels of a large, complex organization, (3) proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and (4) proven ability to write well.

Supplemental Job Information

This part-time position will not exceed 29 working hours per week. The supervisor will establish the work schedule upon hiring. On behalf of the Director of International Education and campus-based Center for International Education (CIE) colleagues, the position serves as the CIE liaison with district administrative departments (including Human Resources, Purchasing, Budget, Banking, Finance, Travel, Information Technology, Marketing, and the College Attorney). Monitors the departmental budgets. Supports administratively study abroad programming, faculty development, grant-funded projects, and events (including hosting international visitors and conferences).
